Dr. Marcus Simonich, ODSimonich was raised in Colstrip, MT, and graduated from Carroll College in Helena, MT, with an undergraduate bachelor of arts in Biology. He obtained his Doctorate of Optometry Degree from Pacific University College of Optometry in 2009. Dr. Simonich is the new business owner of Ronan Eye Clinic and played an instrumental role with computer-based medical record implementation in 2013. Clinically, he enjoys managing ocular disease, including: glaucoma, cataract co-management, and ocular traumas. He also enjoys binocular vision and focusing disorders as well as contact lenses. Detail oriented and sensitive, Dr. Simonich enjoys playing his harmonica and guitar as well as writing. He has enjoyed a new high-intensity training course, that he calls "boot camp," in order to keep his muscles in good shape. Dr. Simonich loves children and has two beautiful daughters with his fun and loving wife (Brittany).
Dr. Arnt James Ofstad, OD
Ofstad was raised in Seattle, WA, and obtained both his Bachelor of Arts in Physics and Doctorate of Optometry Degree from Pacific University College of Optometry in Forest Grove, Oregon. Original founder of Ronan Eye Clinic in 1973, both his dedication to the Mission Valley as well as his entrepreneurial knowledge have contributed to his popularity and success. Creative and down-to-earth, Dr. Ofstad spends his free time mountain biking, road biking, hiking, and Debbie's "honey do" list. He is a talented artist, gifted at painting and woodwork. He built his own home in the Mission Mountains and still lives there today! In addition, he enjoys crafting and playing "Native American style" flutes. He has dedicated over 40 years of his life to serving the eye care needs of the Mission Valley and he has maintained a quality of excellence throughout his career. He has three sons (Tyler, Nathan, and Andrew) who have all inherited many of his fine qualities. His oldest son (Tyler) is actually continuing in his father's footsteps as an eye doctor; Tyler is in his final stages of training as a retinal specialist.
Dr. Clay Benkelman, ODBenkelman was raised in Polson, MT. He continued his undergraduate studies at Montana State University as well as The University of Montana. Dr. Benkelman obtained his Doctorate of Optometry Degree from Pacific University College of Optometry in 1976. His first years as a practicing optometrist were spent with the Navy, serving in Portland, Oregon, and Barstow, California. In 1978, Dr. Benkelman returned to his home--Montana--and started his own private practice in Bigfork. He has continued to work in Bigfork as well as part-time for Glacier Eye Clinic and Ronan Eye Clinic for almost forty years. Recently he has made the decision to partly retire and relocate back to his "old stomping grounds" near Polson with his loving wife Joella. Dr. Benkelman is one of the most benevolent people you will ever meet. He is also an avid outdoors-man and historian.
